Final Post

For the last week we had before the deadline I edited all the footage that I had during lesson times and frees. I also got the last pieces of footage that I needed to get such as an interview with a girl gamer and some voiceovers for the places that I did not get a presenter shot for. I would of liked to have finished my product but sadly I did not as there was a few mishaps now and again with some of the interviews such as interviewee’s not turning up and the struggle I had trying to find a girl gamer who was willing to do an interview. I edited to the best I could with everything that I had and I spent four and a half hours editing in the media room on the Friday to ensure that I was completely finished but I did not but I will be using the Monday to hopefully finish the little bit that needs to be done. I have finished everything maybe not to the standard that I had hoped for when we started this project but it is finished to a standard. When finishing this product I hoped that it covered everything that I had wanted it to when I was writing my treatment as I tried to make sure that I got it to be like how I pictured it when I was writing my treatment.  Although I think that parts did not go as I wanted them to and some parts did not get filmed with the intention of what was writing in the treatment in mind.

This is my recce used to show the location in which I plan to film in as well as showing that I have thought about the place in which i'm filming in and whether it is a suitable place to film in such as safety, is it safe enough, lighting, is it too dark or good lighting and sound, whether the place is too noisey or just right.

Progress - Week 6

6^th February 2012 – 11^th February 2012

This week we filmed the presenter shots at a nearby park and I put those on the Mac and began to continue editing the footage. I then planned when I was filming next and I have arranged to film the week after half term as cutaway footage needs to be gathered along with the female interview which they can be done the week that we are back as I am struggling to get a girl gamer to interview.

30^th January 2012 – 4^th January 2012

This week I went out and filmed some vox pops around the college and put them on to the Mac ready to edit. We then arranged a place to film presenter shots and when we were going to film for next week. I also began editing this week and edited both interviews with the bits I wanted to use as well as the vox pops. I also began to piece the interviews together.

23^rd January 2012 – 28^th January 2012

During this week I interviewed Darren Gordon and put that footage on the Mac ready for editing. I then booked a camera for the next week for doing vox pops around college. I started to cut the first interview up and edit the bits I wanted to use and make sure that they looked fine and sounded fine for the documentary.  I also began to write out questions for the vox pops for next week.

16^th January 2012 – 21^st January 2012

During this week I booked out a camera for the Tuesday, we also asked for permission to film in the gallery in the art centre so that we could film straight away on the day of the interview with no hassle. I interviewed Jody Welch on the planned day and put the footage on the Mac ready to edit later. We then arranged another interview for the following week with Darren Gordon and arranged to do it in the IT staff room. I booked out a camera for next week on the day that I want to interview Darren.

9^th January 2012 – 14^th January 2012

I started my contributor question plan this week ready for when I do my interviews next week.  I also finished the question plan this week so that it was ready for next. I started my recce but did not finish it as I have not decided all of the locations yet and not got pictures but I have filled everything out that I know about so far and the locations that I know about too.  I was in an exam for one of the lessons this week so I did not get media work done in that lesson but it did not set me behind.

2^nd January 2012 – 6^th January 2012

This week I have managed to set up my new A2 blog and finished creating my schedule so that I have something to look at so that I know what I am doing for that lesson and it will keep me on track and will help me finish on time. I also finished my contingency plan so that I knew before I start filming what I would do if something goes wrong. I then started working out how many call sheets I would need while making my documentary by working out how many people that I would be using to help me so that those sheets were ready to be filled out at the necessary time. I did not start my shooting schedule though which I said that I would start on my schedule so that was behind a little.

My shooting schedule will help me know when, where and who I am filming it will also help know what I will need that day so that I know in advance to book those items that I need to ensure that I get them for the time and date that I will be filming.

My contingency plan will come in handy for if anything goes wrong in my project as I can look at this and see what I could do in the event of anything going wrong that is written on the sheet, I have tried to think of everything that could go wrong so I hope that nothing goes wrong that is not on that sheet.

Contributer question plan

This, my contributor question plan is done for ready for when I go out to interview people, this is useful as it means that I will not be sat making up questions just before the interview and I have them there in front of me and there is also a lot of them so if I struggle to think of what questions to use I have a lot to choose from of all different topics within my topic.

Schedule

This is my schedule, it is not the best that I could have made it to be but it is okay. It does not have much detail within it but it is still useable although enough detail will help a lot, I do not have enough time to add more to detail to it yet. This schedule should help me keep on track of what I am doing when and where, it should also help me finish on time for the deadline with plenty of time left to make any changes needed.
